In times of climate change and growing global logistics of passenger and goods flows railroads are becoming increasingly important. In Germany and Europe in particular, it is essential to make optimum use of the existing rail networks, as their expansion is reaching the limits of space and of political and economic possibilities. An intelligent Command and Control System (CCS) is urgently needed for this optimal use of the networks.
