ETCS rollout – an assessment from the perspective of a railway undertaking
The publication of the E uropean Train Control System ( ETCS) migration strategy has led to the need for railway undertakings (RU) to assess the tracks and rolling stock that will be affected by the introduction of ETCS so as to be able to react to any future changes in the network access criteria. The current situation has been analysed from the point of view of DB Regio AG (DB Regio), one of the largest owners of rolling stock in regional transport, and its implications have been presented.
