Alstom: capital increase launched
Alstom has launched a €2 billion capital increase to finance part of the Bombardier Transportation’s acquisition for a total amount of €5.3 billion. At the end of October, Alstom's shareholders gave the go-ahead for the acquisition of the Canadian company. The capital increase will also result in the Canadian Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) becoming not only Bombardier Transportations (32.5%) but also Alstom’s largest shareholder with a 17% stake. The acquisition of Bombardier is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021....
