The digitalisation of safety technology in record time: the Ahr Valley railway project
On December 10th, 2023, a significant milestone was achieved for the entire Ahr Valley region: at precisely 10:00 PM, the first section of the Ahr Valley Railway from Remagen to Walporzheim was transferred from Scheidt&Bachmann Signalling Systems GmbH to DB InfraGO and successfully resumed operations. The approximately 40 km long railway line is an essential traffic artery for the Ahr Valley. It branches off from the left Rhine line in Remagen and follows the course of the Ahr River.
