Virtual radar for the railway of tomorrow – testing automated trains in a virtual environment

This article presents a method for developing and validating a virtual radar sensor model designed to simulate automated train operations as part of the Digitale Schiene Deutschland (DSD) sector initiative. The model generates realistic sensor data in a digital environment and supports the evaluation and future validation of radar-based object detection systems used in automated trains.
