The challenges of unifying railway data in the EU
Several hundred parameters are needed for a comprehensive assessment of the railway system. In the Shift2Rail project IMPACT-2 a process has been developed to ensure that these data can be collected in a coherent manner. To fulfil the requirement of being applied to “typical” European scenarios, data from different European railway systems need to be unified. Fulfilment of this challenging task is producing results which can be extrapolated for many European railway scenarios.
