CBTC to be installed between Malaysia and Singapore
Siemens Mobility has been awarded the contract to develop, install and commission a CBTC and platform screen door system for the Johor Bahru – Singapore rapid transit line. This is the first deployment of CBTC technology on a cross-border rail link. The four-kilometre line connecting Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and Woodlands, Singapore, is operated by RTS Operations, a joint venture between Singaporean rail operator SMRT and Malaysian transport company Prasarana.
