In Germany, the ETCS system has now been fitted to 340 km of track. In addition, between 2021 and 2025, 446 km of new and upgraded line will be equipped with ETCS if funding can be secured. ETCS expansion is also being pushed forward in the Czech Republic. As a leading Central European country and EU member, the Czech Republic is following the example of Switzerland in converting the entire network to the European transport control system ERTMS.
