New high-tech laboratory for railway technology
Bombardier Transportation opened a new high-tech laboratory at its Mannheim location on 22 August 2018. Bombardier Transportation has invested around EUR 1 million in the new laboratory. For the most part, companies from Mannheim and the region were engaged for the construction. Future-oriented electronic systems for train control (TCMS) and signalling and control technology (RCS) are developed and tested in the new high-tech hub. This means that the brain of trains is programmed in Mannheim and work is being done on digitally networked communication between trains and railway lines for greater safety in rail traffic....
