Rail as the key to competitiveness
Mobility is the key to economic success. All modes of transport need to work together in a way that makes sense and each should be developed and used according to its particular advantages in order to create an optimal overall system. In 2017, the “Deutsche Bahn” provided a transport performance of around 95.9 billion passenger-kilometres and rail had a 17.4% share of the freight transport sector. These figures could be even higher.
