Siemens Mobility to upgrade communication radios for Network Rail
Siemens Mobility has been awarded a 36 million EUR contract by Network Rail, one of the largest rail infrastructure providers in Great Britain, to upgrade the GSM-R cab radios of the entire Great Britain rolling stock fleet. From October 2019, GSM-R software and hardware in 9052 cabs will be upgraded to the fourth generation (V4.0), offering greater immunity, better voice quality and higher performance. The upgrade is scheduled for completion in March 2022. In addition, Siemens Mobility will supply 11000 rail radios including 1948 replacement units....
