The use of simulators in the train driver candidate examining process
In 2023, the Polish Office of Rail Transport launched a modern Train Driver Examination and Monitoring System (SEMM). The SEMM project combines multiple elements from the area of train driver qualifications and implements modern, non-standard solutions. The introduction of tasks that have to be completed on a railway vehicle simulator during the certified train driver’s exam is an important and unique solution on a European scale.
