Dear readers, it’s going to be gripping: Austria held its National Assembly elections in 2024 and Germany elected a new Bundestag just a few weeks ago. After intense negotiations in Austria, the ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos have agreed to a coalition. The good news for rail transport in Europe is that the planned government is interested in continuity: it has committed to the climate goals and to public transport in order to reduce the dependency on cars.
