On the way to digital railway signalling using the example of the Zwickau Junction
In 2014, DB Netz AG commissioned the first digital interlocking (DSTW), which is set to replace the electronic interlocking (ESTW) in the upcoming years. The technologies and components have been continuously further developed and implemented in individual projects, but the DSTW is still a peripheral matter in the DB InfraGO network. The question arises as to how the migration from almost 100-year-old technology to modern technology, i.e. digital railway signalling (Digitale Leit- und Sicherungstechnik DLST), can succeed....
