A year of trial operations at the Meitingen-Mertingen digital interlocking
A digital interlocking (DSTW) creates the foundation for a highly available and resilient railway infrastructure based on modularisation, standardisation and IP-based communication between decentralised field elements and the centralised interlocking system. The DSTW architecture allows operations management to become more flexible and maintenance to be standardised. The realisation of DSTW pre-series projects (PSP) is an important step towards achieving this goal.
